Prayers, solos, and a whole bunch of new words

We have had a busy night, as usual. We took the kids out to eat for the stellar report cards that they both earned and then we headed over to the elementary school for the 4th grade concert. KAYLEE SANG A SOLO!!!! She did so well! She went first too! The start of the song was a series of short solo's and Kaylee was the first one up. Of the six girls that sang solos, she was one of two that managed, despite looking like they were lined up in front of a firing squad, to sing on key. She sang really well and we are proud of her! Jake is today's comic relief, of course . In his sweet and heartfelt, albeit hysterical prayers, he never fails to amuse and/or shock us. The last several nights it has been "and please bless Emma that she won't yell so loud at Jaden". Those who know dear, sweet, authoritative "Princess Emma", will laugh and knowingly shake their heads. Tonight little Emma was passed over in Jake's prayer (for the 1st time in at least 2 weeks) in favor of Jaden's speech class that he has tomorrow morning. Jake said, "Bless that Jaden can learn a whole bunch of new words like 'turn on the fan' and 'help me open the door'". Yeah, those phrases are at the top of my "I wish he would learn to say " list!
